Description:
Small unstreaked reed-warbler with drab and uniform plumage, slim build, short and rounded wing. Has relatively long bill, olive-brown to olive-grey upperparts, and uniform wings. Supercilium is comparatively indistinct and barely apparent behind eye. Has noticeable warm olive cast to upperparts and edges of remiges.
Distribution:
Common passage migrant and summer visitor to central and western parts of Gilgit-Baltistan. Adapted to varied habitats, but usually in bushes and trees at edges of forest, cultivation, wooded areas, slopes of hills and valleys, up to 2500m.
Behavior:
Forages usually on side or top foliage of trees and bushes, as well as in herb layer. Hops on the ground, and catches insects in flight. Diet predominantly consists of variety of insects, bugs, spiders and other small invertebrate, including adult and larvae; some seeds also taken.
